Zero Waste Instruction
Our university has been awarded the "Zero Waste Certificate" within the scope of the "Zero Waste Project" carried out nationwide by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization.

With the publication of the Zero Waste Regulation in July 2019, efforts for the Zero Waste system were initiated at our university and are still ongoing. When the Erciyes University Waste Directive is evaluated within the scope of Zero Waste practices, it is seen that it contains similar goals and objectives. Therefore, waste management at ERU is carried out with the zero waste strategy as the main target. In line with the Zero Waste Project, activities such as recycling, waste reduction, prevention of wastefulness, and proper segregation of waste at the source are being implemented.

Share for a Sustainable Future: ERU Clothing Center Donation Campaign!

Share for a Sustainable Future!
Erciyes University has launched a donation campaign for the Clothing Center to help students contribute to a sustainable future and meet their needs. The campaign aims to provide a wider variety of products and reach more students at the store where university students can receive five items per semester free of charge. At the core of this meaningful initiative lies a sustainability approach. The campaign, which aims to reduce overconsumption and encourage reuse, is considered an important step within the scope of the Zero Waste Movement. The reuse of second-hand clothes not only reduces the impact of waste but also creates a circular economy, preventing environmental damage caused by production.
Reusing second-hand products represents a major environmental gain in the textile industry. Textile production worldwide causes significant water consumption and carbon emissions. Reusing used clothes significantly reduces these effects and supports an approach consistent with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production aims for a system where resources are used more efficiently and waste is reduced, while keeping second-hand clothes in circulation contributes significantly to this goal. Additionally, within the scope of SDG 1: No Poverty, donated clothes are delivered to those in need, strengthening social solidarity.
You can also support the slogan “Slow Down Fast Fashion, Speed Up Kindness” by participating in this campaign. By donating your surplus clothes, you can take an environmentally conscious step and support university students. For detailed information about the donation campaign, you can contact the Erciyes University Clothing Center. Remember, your small contribution can inspire great changes!
