GOAL 2: ZERO HUNGER
In the last 20 years, rapid economic growth and increased agricultural productivity have significantly reduced the number of malnourished people. Many developing countries that once faced famine now meet the nutritional needs of vulnerable populations. Despite progress, extreme hunger and malnutrition remain significant barriers to development. As of 2014, an estimated 795 million people faced chronic undernourishment, with over 90 million children under five dangerously underweight. The Sustainable Development Goals aim to end all forms of hunger and malnutrition by 2030, focusing on equitable access to food and supporting small farmers.
