GOAL 17: PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE GOALS
The Sustainable Development Goals can only be achieved through strong commitments to global partnerships and cooperation. While official development assistance from developed countries increased by 66% between 2000 and 2014, demands for financial resources and aid continue to rise due to humanitarian crises caused by conflicts or natural disasters. Many countries also need Official Development Assistance to promote growth and trade. Our world is now more interconnected than ever, and increasing access to technology and knowledge is crucial for sharing ideas and supporting innovation. Coordinating policies to help developing countries manage their debts and encouraging investments in least developed countries are vital for achieving sustainable growth and development. The Goals aim to enhance North-South and South-South cooperation by supporting national plans to achieve all targets. Promoting international trade and supporting developing countries to increase their exports are essential elements for establishing a fair, open, and equitable trade system based on universal rules that benefit everyone.
